Firmware updates improve performance, fix bugs, and occasionally add new features. The Subtle app notifies you when an update is available.
Before you start
- Both Voicebuds are in the case and the case has a reasonable charge (ideally above 30%)
- Your iPhone is near the case (within arm's reach)
- You have a stable internet connection
Steps
- Open Earbud settings in the Subtle app.
- If an update is ready, you'll see a Firmware update available banner. Tap Update now.
- The screen transitions to Installing with a progress indicator. Keep your phone near the case and do not close the app.
- Wait for the Firmware updated confirmation (shown in green).
- Your Voicebuds are now on the latest firmware.
What to expect during the update
- The update typically takes 2–5 minutes.
- Some controls in Earbud settings may be greyed out while installing — this is normal.
- Voicebuds may briefly disconnect and reconnect at the end of the update process.
