You have the right to request a copy of your personal data and to delete your Subtle account. Here's how both work.
Export your data
To request a copy of your personal information stored by Subtle:
- Go to Account → Data and Privacy (or contact contact@subtle.co).
- Submit a data export request.
- Where technically feasible, Subtle will provide a portable copy of your personal data.
Delete your account
- Go to Account → Data and Privacy → Delete account, or contact contact@subtle.co.
- Confirm your identity (you may need to re-enter your password).
- Confirm deletion when prompted — this action is permanent.
What happens after deletion
- Subtle deletes your personal information from active databases within 30 days of a verified request.
- Subtle requests deletion from its service providers (including AI processing providers) within the same timeframe.
- Some data cannot be deleted — including information that has been anonymised or aggregated (it can no longer be linked back to you), data incorporated into trained AI models (at an anonymous level), and data Subtle is legally required to retain.
What deletion affects
- All your notes, chats, and account information are deleted.
- Your active membership ends — no prorated refund is issued for subscription time remaining.
- Your Voicebuds will continue to work as standard earbuds without an account, but AI and dictation features will not be accessible.
Export your data before deleting — once your account is deleted, your notes and chat history are gone.
