Subtle AI chat lets you have a back-and-forth conversation with an AI assistant — entirely by voice if you prefer.
Start a new chat
- From Home, tap the + button and choose AI Chat.
- Type your question in the prompt box, or open the chat and use the mic to speak it.
- The AI responds — typically within a few seconds on a good connection.
- Continue the conversation. Each reply appears in chronological order.
Voice vs. typing
- Voice: Tap the mic and speak — you'll see a live waveform while Subtle listens, with a cancel button if you change your mind. Your words land in the message box; the send button delivers them when you're ready.
- Typing: Tap the input field and type. (Inside the Subtle app, text fields use the standard system keyboard.)
- If you don't see a mic button, you're offline — the chat mic hides without a connection.
AI responses
- Responses require an internet connection.
- AI can make errors — review before acting on advice, sharing, or copying content.
- Your chat messages are processed by Subtle's enterprise AI providers with contractual data protections. See Voice activation, third-party AI, and your consent responsibilities for details.
Offline behaviour
When offline, existing chats are read-only — you can view previous messages but can't add new ones or receive responses. Reconnect to resume.
Membership and usage limits
Unlimited AI chat is included with your first year of membership. After the membership period, usage may be subject to limits on the free tier. See Membership overview for details.
