- System-wide dictation: Use the Subtle keyboard to dictate into virtually any iOS app — messages, emails, notes, browsers, and more.
- Voice notes: Record thoughts instantly. Subtle transcribes them and surfaces them in your Home feed.
- AI chat: Start conversations by voice or text and get AI-generated responses. Powered by enterprise AI with data protections in place.
- Music and calls: Full wireless earbud functionality with high-quality audio for music, calls, and media.
- Noise cancellation and transparency mode: Switch between immersive and aware listening on demand.
- Custom EQ: Adjust bass, mid, and treble to your preference in the app.
- Battery monitoring: See left, right, and case battery levels in real time from the app.
Current limitations
- English only: Multilingual dictation and chat are planned for a future update.
- U.S. availability only: International shipping and support are in the roadmap.
- iOS and macOS supported: Android and Windows are not currently supported.
- Internet required for AI features: Dictation transcription and AI chat need connectivity. Offline recording is possible, but processing completes when you reconnect.
- AI outputs can be inaccurate: Always review transcripts and responses before relying on them. Subtle's AI accuracy depends on audio quality, environment, and speaking style.
Water resistance
Voicebuds are rated IPX4 — protected against sweat, rain, and splashes from any direction. They are not waterproof and should not be submerged or used in the shower.
