Check these requirements before troubleshooting a setup issue. If your device, region, or language isn't listed, some problems can't be resolved until official support expands.
Supported devices and platforms
- iPhone (iOS): Supported. Minimum iOS version of 26.0 required.
- Mac (macOS): Supported. Minimum macOS version of 26.0 required.
- iPad (iPadOS): Not supported. The Subtle app, keyboard, and widget are iPhone-only.
- Android / Windows: Not currently supported.
Regions
Subtle ships and operates in the United States only at launch. If you're outside the U.S., you may not be able to purchase or activate Voicebuds and you may experience slower response times for internet enabled features.
Languages
Dictation, transcription, and AI chat are available in English only at launch. Additional language support is planned.
Connectivity
Voicebuds pair over Bluetooth. AI chat requires an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular). Basic dictation can fall back to on-device transcription without a connection — see Offline mode: what works and what doesn't.
If your setup doesn't meet these requirements
- Running an older iOS version? Update to the latest and retry setup.
- Outside the U.S.? Contact support@subtle.co for regional availability updates.
